The Building Business in Brookhaven Event Breaks Attendance Record!

The Brookhaven Business Advisory Council (BBAC) hosted the 7th Annual Building Business in Brookhaven Event on Tuesday, September 27th.  The event was held at the Brookhaven Town Hall and was the most successful one yet!

Thanks to the hard work of the Expo Event Committee attendance increased by more than 50% over last year.  Opportunity to network with approximately 340 businesses was available in the span of 2 1/2 hours.  Feedback from both vendors and attendees was extremely positive and many new business relationships were started.

The event kicked off with a speech by Brookhaven Town Supervisor Mark Lesko who earlier that day unveiled the new Brookhaven job message board JobHaven.org.  Mark Lesko writes on the JobHaven.org home page, "Welcome to the Town of Brookhaven Jobs Board! We created the Brookhaven Jobs Board for you to have easy access to employment opportunities offered by various companies, businesses, and organizations in and around the Town. JobHaven.org is one portal to many other job-related sites and up to date information on recent job postings. The website also has useful information about Town services for small businesses. If you are looking to re-enter the workforce or interested in a career change, we hope this website will put you on the path to success. "

Congressman Tim Bishop also offered opening remarks, but speeches were not what the night was about.   The BBAC kept their promise to keep the focus of the evening on business to business networking.

BBAC member Brian Cohen interviewed business owners for the t.v. show "Brookhaven: Getting Down to Business" which airs on Cablevision channel 18.  The show features one on one interviews and roundtable discussions with business and community leaders from Brookhaven Town.

Congratulations to the BBAC on another successful event and good luck to Brookhaven Businesses!
